Reflexión inicial sobre "dos actitudes esenciales" por parte de los artistas dentro del marco de la pintura figurativa: aquellos que plasaman la "poesía de la materialidad" (que Córdova Iturburu ejemplifica con la obra plástica de Paul Cézanne) y aquellos que plasman la "escondida espiritualidad de las cosas" (ejemplificada con Rossi).
