Nora Cortiñas estuvo comprometida con la causa del pueblo haitiano, principalmente en repudio a la intervención militar de las Naciones Unidas entre 2004 y 2015 (conocida como Misión de Estabilización de las Naciones Unidas en Haití, MINUSTAH), de la cual Argentina formó parte.
